Pain (10.28.12)

“Pain arising in my heart. What is going on here? In this lonely concave place of mine? Is it resistance to him? It is resistance to me. Resistance to what I’ve become, resistance to what I continue to be? This space is not for the weary-eyed. Lay down your hats and drink to the moonlight. You’ve fought a long war, you’re just jumping at shadows now. The monsters of your mind have long vanished, but creaky footsteps still give you the shakes. Give him and yourself the benefit of the doubt. He wants what is best for you, he is understanding and thoughtful. Show him the same courtesy you want him to show you. This is the lessons learned, the lives becoming conjoined. Rest in the unfolding.”
