Art is a way to make the transitory permanent. The fleeting thought, moment, glance, idea is forever committed to the canvas through the intent of the artist. Given the nature of it’s passing, it must be particularly striking to the observer to make such an imprint that they choose to capture that moment for many moments to come. The fate of a work of art is to be seen over and over, and in that, a moment is being repeated again and again, but each viewing carries a new angle to see from. All in all, the moment has tried to be captured, but it cannot be recreated in the initial way- each moment gives us new eyes to see from, and even though viewing a familiar object, it becomes new with each passing if you choose so.
